The Great Escape

The nation was again shaken by a recent Hollywood like daring dash for freedom  made by 9 prisoners en route for trial in Butterworth.What more this  'great escape' once again dented the integrity of the Royal Malaysia Police. Fortunately or otherwise  two of the escapees who faced murder charges were obliterated from the list but the air of  doubts  surrounding the truth behind the entire episode remain.Although the long arms of the law did finally catch up with the other three escapees,however those  criminals still at large can resort to unimaginable violence if  circumstances are not conducive to them.

Not only does this put the police under the microscope but it also pushed  the prison authority into the limelight as well. Procedures were meticulously set in the form of standing orders connected with guard and escort duties and this gets frequent update.The system  does not fail but the personnel entailed for guard and escort duties do and in a case like this the pertinent cause can be no other than, non  compliance to the requirements in the order. The Inspector General Standing Orders (IGSO) on guard and escort duties not only clearly categorised and  defined prisoners,it also stipulate the required number of escorts needed for each category. Matters seemed to have been taken lightly with complacency being the culprit, despite the fact that two of the prisoners were  individuals charged with a serious crime of  murder that carries the death sentence upon conviction.Hilarious too, the number of prisoners in this incident surprisingly outnumbered their escorts.Answers are needed for the following questions.

• the vehicle assigned to ferry the prisoners, was it really suitable for prisoner escort?
• transfer of the prisoners from their prison cells to the police vehicle was it done inside the Penang Prison complex ?
• Were the escorts aware of the status of those  prisoners to be escorted?
• Were the prisoners body searched by the prison officers before embarking into the police vehicle? In this scenario, even if the prisoners were not checked by the prison authorities they will adamantly stand their ground that they did  as required and the blame obviously fell on the police escorts.
• Were the prisoners double searched by the police escorts before embarking the police transport  and leaving from the prison complex?
• How many handcuffs were used and were those chained type,  gazetted handcuffs or  merely those bought in Thailand? Clearly must be a case of insufficiency.
• Why was the number of police escorts not in accordance with IGSO orders on guard & escort?
• Why were prisoners leaving the prison not wearing lock up uniform whereas the same leaving police lock ups for court cases wore lockup uniform?
• How did the escapees contacted their friends, were they using phones confiscated from their escorts who were 'assaulted'?

This  'great escape'  can be a script worthy of a movie and investigators need to seriously seek the truth and nothing less.Accountability is another serious matter.Who are the ones really responsible? Obviously in this unfortunate incident the finger will be quick to zero in to the police escorts, non other than the rank and file.The other side to this is the  lack of supervision on the part of the officers in charge of such assignment is not a trivial issue.

 As a matter of fact the Minister of Home Affairs is  in a way also  accountable. Certain police duties and operations needed the necessary tools to execute and when these are lacking an officer's initiative is usually drawn into play and this can at times bring disastrous consequences. The lack of logistics seems to be a never ending problem within the Police Force. Insufficient gazetted handcuffs though is a small part of the problem but apparently is something hard to resolve.Look into the reason why a vehicle not meant for escort duty was utilised in the first place? What obvious answer can it be? The non availability of a suitable vehicle has always been the common excuse from the 'manual of excuses'. Police budget cut is the other reason usually heard and can the Police  be blamed for performing under constrain?
 

The government must now seriously ponder on the possibility to construct remand lockups next to future courthouses to reduce the problem of commuting prisoners from police lockups to the court. The 'Black Maria' is the main feature in guard and escort duties. In those days in KL it was this mobile lock up that made the daily trips ferrying prisoners from Pudu jail to the court house and back having to endeavour the horrible KL jam.Now it is from Sg Buloh located some distance away to the Jalan Duta courts.The journey to this destination often present a stress on those involved as anything can happen along the way.Hopefully those involved in this duty are physically and mentally prepared for any eventualities. A criminal courthouse constructed on the vacant field adjacent to the iconic Pudu Jail would have  eliminate all risks of prisoner escape or attempts to free them. But sadly, instead, a shopping complex will eventually step into this location while memories of the iconic Pudu Jail that served the justice system so well will just fade into oblivion.

Lockup duties are shunned by most rank and file. While a good and reliable electronic surveillance system can undoubtedly reduce some burden related to guard and escort however, whatever technology put in place will be meaningless if the personnel lacked urgency.Incident like this 'great escape' can be prevented with strict compliance to rules and regulation, strict supervision and placing a high sense of responsibility on the job entailed to them without letting complacency get the better of oneself. I only wish the best for the Royal Malaysia Police and that the government of the day have a moral duty to ensure that the Royal Malaysia Police is equipped with the best  tools available to create fear among the criminals and at the same time boost public moral on public order and security, peace and tranquality.

 

AT LAST, THEY DID IT!

Foot path to Seri Setia commuter station

 Ever since it's inception into service more than three decades ago I have been a regular on the KTM commuter.Taking the commuter to and from work every day reduces the stress of having to face the daily traffic jam along the way to Kuala Lumpur. Only two factors come to play, anxiety about the commuter's timing is one thing while the other is about  the walk to the Seri Setia commuter station that can be very stressful especially after a heavy downpour .

Puddles of  water cause you to jump like a frog to avoid getting your shinning shoes soiled. Then comes a motorist with no sense at all just ride pass and splashing the dirty water on to your pants. I have experienced this situation a couple of times and seen ladies experiencing the same situation too. When can clowns like these ever have some consideration.For over three decades this condition existed with no one ever doing anything. Someone has to be responsible. The KTM did nothing as  their fence is about 10 meters from the path while the Guinness Anchor Brewery's (GAB) red brick wall clearly defined their jurisdiction.This left us with only one other authority that logically must be responsible for this road and the finger can surely point to the state government. YBs from the previous government came and went but this stretch of road situation  remained unchanged.

Difficult walk for ladies with high heels

Shortly after the 2008 GE the newly elected PKR representative for Seri Setia made his first visit to the Ar Rahmah mosque and I had only one request in mind to make, that is, for YB Nik Najmi to tackle this road problem. I thought that if this was a 'no man's land' than I  better forward an application to develop the stretch and impose  toll on pedestrians, cyclists as well as motorcyclist plying this short stretch.Can be lucrative in fact. He acknowledged and I was delighted. Months went by with no sign of action in sight. Are  minor problems like this just allowed to remain the same?I began to have the same impression that most YBs were the same. Highlighted this problem on FB and after quite sometime, on a day early last year, I was delighted to see workers  busy at work here. I soon realise that my predicament related to this road will soon be over. Most regulars using this road must have the same.

The work seemed to have been completed but surprisingly a short stretch that lead to the overhead bridge was left untouched.Funny, how come, is something wrong with the budget?  This condition prevailed for quite a long time too. What a job done halfway.

However in the afternoon of 2 Jan 2013 as was walking along the overhead bridge heading for the Seri Setia station I was surprised to see that the whole stretch of the once gravel and puddle road transformed making the short walk to the  commuter station more pleasant. You need not have to worry about kicking  a stone while walking and falling over getting water splashed onto you by inconsiderate motorcylists. The ladies especially those wearing high heel shoes can now walk gracefully to the station.

Well, it is better late than never. To YB Nik Najmi "Thank You Sir". Oh yes, another small request YB, what about having a covered walkway from the overhead bridge from Sg Way town to the commuter station as a next project?

LET'S START CRIME PREVENTION FROM SCHOOLS

The  insecurity makes the general public feels uneasy and  that this situation needs to be improved. While the authorities claimed that the crime rate has taken a dip by 10.1 % but this has little bearing on the perception of the general public as far as  crime is concerned. As a matter of fact, how the general public feels remains the pertinent factor.After all statistics can be subjected to  manipulation.

Well, just read the  local papers especially two prominent Malay papers and look at their crime reports.Their reports on crime flashed daily certainly give reasons for anyone to feel uneasy and. Of course there are certain crimes that cannot be prevented but most of the daily crimes reported can and they kept repeating time and again despite the ceaseless efforts of crime prevention. 

The Royal Malaysia Police are always there for crime prevention.In spite of this there are still people  who  fall victim to certain crimes. While greater emphasis is being placed on Resident Associations and the general public in the fight against crime and the relentless efforts made via the electronic media, it seems like the advices , at times, just went unheeded. Now, this might sound rather dumb but worth the try.Why not  start crime prevention from basic and this means getting started from the schools. I believe they still have Crime Prevention Clubs in schools hopefully.Make crime prevention  a topic in class as an aspiration of the club.



On this Ministry of Home Affairs can work with the Education Ministry and make crime prevention a daily topic for discussion with nothing else in mind but to inculcate that certain crimes can be prevented and the students need to have the knowledge on the modus operandi, what mistakes were made and how it can be prevented.  A teacher in each class just needs to select a suitable crime reported in the newspapers and discuss this crime with his or her class making them understand how the crime was committed, why it happened and how to prevent such crimes. There is a need to prepare the students at a young age as they will  eventually better understand crime and the measures to prevent it.

It is also our aspirations that when they leave school they are at least aware of the situation. It's rather  frustrating to learn about people falling victims to some ridiculous scam.

A 30 minutes  session a day in class would suffice and teachers can expose the pupils to the relevant laws connected with such crimes. The Royal Malaysia Police can guide and enhance the teacher's knowledge crime prevention and maybe too become a criminalogist.

Hopefully, the system of attaching an officer to a school in the police district is still in place.These officers can play a more effective role in the Crime Prevention Club program. Can we give it a try, after all there is nothing to lose and this can also be considered a process of target hardening.Be alert against the perpetrators. Schools are reportedly embarking to exposing the social dangers of Facebook to students and so why not inter alia include crime prevention as well.

RAGUT - DURI DALAM DAGING

Bila akan berakhir atau berkurangan?

Ragut merupakan satu jenayah yang boleh dianggap sebagai duri di dalam daging bagi pasukan Polis DiRaja Malaysia. Tidak ada satu hari pun yang mungkin berlalu tanpa terlapor jenayah ini dalam negara kita. Berbagai operasi dijalankan namun ragut, selain dari jenayah lain, masih berleluasa dan  juga menjadi igauan kepada kebanyakan kaum hawa. Apatah lagi menjelang Hari Raya ini perang terhadap jenayah ini akan bermula.Saperti tahun-tahun yang berlalu peperangan ini tidak langsung memberikan indikasi yang kemenangan memihak kepada yang berkuasa.

Oleh yang demikian kerajaan harus serius dalam usaha untuk membenteras gejala ini yang juga sedikat sebanyak telah mencemar nama negara dikalangan pelancong yang juga tidak terkecuali dari menjadi mangsa ragut. Sudah berkali kali dikemukakan cadangan tetapi apakan daya cadangan hanya tinggal cadangan dan berbuih mulut saperti anjing gila membangkitkan hal ini.

Tidak dapat dinafikan salah satu langkah yang efektif menangani ragut, pada pendapat saya, ialah untuk pihak berkuasa mengawal pengeluaran plat nombor pendaftaran.Sekiranya ini menjadi satu masalah untuk diaplikasikan kepada semua kenderaan, ok, cuba kita mulakan dengan motosikal dahulu kerana peragut serta penjenayah lain sering menggunakan motosikal dalam operasi mereka. Bagi semua jenis motosikal kerajaan perlu seragamkan plat nombor mengikut peraturan undang-undang dan bentuk plat yang dikehendaki oleh kerajaan. Teringat saya semasa SUKOM pihak kerajaan ada mengeluarkan plat nombor khusus semasa itu.Ini patut diteruskan dengan mengwujudkan satu mekanisma berkesan.

Ini bukan mangsa yang pertama

Seterusnya pengeluaran plat nombor ini juga perlu dikawal dan hanya Jabatan Pengangkutan Jalanraya (JPJ) dan PDRM cawangan trafik,atau mereka yang ditauliahkan oleh Kementerian Pengangkutan sahaja  yang dibenarkan oleh undang-undang untuk mengeluarkan nombor plat ini. Sebagai langkah meningkatkan keselamatan  nombor plat ini mungkin perlu mengandongi 'security hologram' sebagai ciri penting mencegah pemalsuan plat.


Kita juga tidak perlu bimbang dengan kemungkinan pengeluaran plat palsu.Kalau  kegiatan memalsukan dilakukan oleh pihak yang tertentu perkara ini akan dapat diketahui juga dari maklumat orang awam yang sudah pasti akan bekerjasama demi membenteras  ragut yang memberikan kesan kepada penghidupan mereka. Apa yang penting dalam hal ini adalah  undang-undang Pengangkutan Jalanraya yang ada sekarang perlu diperkuatkan dan peruntukan dibuat bagi menghukum mereka yang membuat/mengeluarkan/mengedar nombor plat palsu.Sekiranya disabit kesalahan, dikenakan hukuman penjara  dan/atau denda yang tinggi bagi setiap satu nombor plat palsu yang dirampas  atau dikenakan hukuman kedua-duanya sekali.

Dengan cara ini sahaja akan dapat kita membendung jenayah curi ragut ini. Penguatkuasaan yang jitu perlu.Mana-mana motosikal yang dikesan oleh polis menggunakan plat nombor selain dari yang diwartakan atau menggunakan plat pendaftaran yang diperbuat dari kad,logam, 'zinc' atau plastik dan sebagainya mereka ini perlu ditahan untuk siasatan lanjut. Nombor plat  ini  perlu direka  khusus dan hendaklah dilekatkan terus pada motosikal dan plat ini akan rosak apabila cuba ditanggalkan.

Peperangan yang lemah

Sekiranya langkah ini dijalankan maka ini sudah pasti akan  menyulitkan penjenayah dalam operasi mereka.Mereka juga tidak boleh menggunakan nombor plat motosikal yang dicuri sebab motosikal yang dilaporkan hilang ini akan dikesan polis.Mana-mana motosikal yang ditunggang tanpa plat nombor atau nombor buatan sendiri juga akan ditahan untuk siasatan.


Seiring ini mereka juga tidak dapat membuat nombor palsu kerana pengeluaran nombor plat pendaftaran  dikawal dan pengeluaran sebarang plat pendaftaran gantian perlu mengemukakan dokumen sokongan. Pada rakyat yang mematuhi undang-undang ini mungkin menimbulkan sedikit kesulitan namun kita perlu ingat keselamatan adalah lebih penting kerana melibatkan kaum keluarga kita yang boleh menjadi statistik ragut maupun samun.




Sekiranya nombor plat rasmi ini rosak pengantian boleh diberikan satelah membuat laporan rasmi polis dan membuat permohonan dengan mengemukan surat pendaftaran motosikal sebagai bukti menjadi pemilik.Plat nombor gantian akan dikeluarkan dengan bayaran tertentu. 


Ini juga akan membuat dan galakkan semua pemilik motosikal lebih berhati-hati menjaga agar plat nombor motosikal mereka tidak rosak. Memang semua ini mungkin dianggap  remeh temeh namun, saperti dikatan keselamatan awam atas lebih penting.

Sudah tiba masanya perkara ini perlu diberi pandangan serius apalagi banyak kejadian jenayah  dilaporkan atau yang tidak dilaporkan melibatkan penjenayah menggunakan motosikal.Saya yakin memang ada teknoloji dipasaran yang boleh mengeluarkan nombor plat yang dikatakan sama saperti juga cukai jalan kenderaan mungkin lebih canggih lagi. 


Sekiranya langkah ini yang diambil keatas motosikal berjaya mencapai matlamat yang diidamkan maka mungkin  perkara ini juga dilaksanakan keatas kenderaan-kenderaan lain. Bukankah kebanyakan jenayah yang dilakukan juga menggunakan kenderaan boleh dikatakan sebilangan besar melibatkan pejenayah menggunakan plat nombor pendaftaran palsu.

MACAM MANA JADI BEGINI?

 Kebanyakan kita sudah tentu pernah melihat situasi saperti ini terutama bagi mereka yang menunggang motosikal. Kita dapat perhatikan terdapat motosikal yang terdampar ditepi jalan termasuk juga lorong motosikal yang terbiar disitu buat beberapa ketika sehingga pada akhirnya apa yang tinggal hanya lah rangka sahaja? Tapi rangka ini pun akhirnya lesap dan sudah pasti bukan diambil oleh pihak yang berwajib tetapi oleh 'saudagar-saudagar' besi yang lazimnya akan sapu semua bentuk besi yang ditemui.

Mungkin juga ada terlintas soalan di kepala kenapa motosikal dibiarkan begitu sahaja? Apakah mungkin kenderaan semacam ini telah digunakan untuk aktiviti yang menyalahi undang-undang?  Apakah mungkin  tuan punya motosikal seorang yang kaya dan tidak lagi perlu dan tidak pedulikan hartanya dan biarkan disitu saja sebab dia boleh beli motosikal lain? Mungkin juga motosikal sebegini ditinggalkan oleh sipenjenayah setelah selesai operasi yang dijalankan.

Apa dah jadi?

Dalam situasi sebegini maka timbul pula persoalan apakah pihak polis tidak berminat dalam hal-hal sedemikian untuk mengambil tahu? Sekurang-kurang dengan terjumpa motosikal macam ini, yang sekiranya dilaporkan dicuri maka  kes ini boleh dianggap selesai walaupun tidak ada tangkapan yang dapat dibuat. Disebaliknya dengan usaha dan siasatan teliti mungkin penangkapan bakal menyusul. Tapi sayang nampaknya perkara ini tidak mempunyai keutamaan.



Besi buruk

Sekurangnya besi buruk sebegini keadaan boleh diambil milik oleh pihak polis dan apabila usaha mengesan tuan punya motosikal gagal untuk datang uruskan hartanya maka selepas masa yang peruntukabn oleh undang-undang maka pihak Polis berhak melupuskan besi buruk ini bawah harta yang tidak dituntut dibawah Akta Polis.Cara ini sudah tentu dapat tambah kewangan tabung polis.

Tertanya juga, apakah mereka yang menjalankan rondaan jenayah bermotosikal dan berkereta tidak terlihat bangkai motosikal ini terdampar? Atau mungkin mereka tidak tahu tindakan yang perlu diambil. Pasukan rondaan jenayah sepatutnya tumpu pada perkara sebegini sebagai asas untuk siasatan bagaimana motosikal boleh ditinggalkan begini sahaja?

Kehilangan motosikal menjadi duri dalam daging bagi pasukan polis.Kebanyakan motosikal yang dilaporkan hilang sering digunakan untuk perlaksaan jenayah dan akan ditinggal setelah selesai urusan mereka. Satu lagi masalah besar yang dihadapi oleh pasukan polis ialah tentang bentuk nombor pendaftaran yang perlu diberi perhatian serius dan tidak membiarkan nombor pendaftaran direka sesuka hati dan bermacam gaya.

 Pengeluaran nombor pendaftaran juga perlu dikawal dan ini ternyata satu cara berkesan mencegah jenayah. saya perkara ini telah berkali dibangkitkan tanpa ada tindkan serius diberikan. Ada yang menyuara bahawa ada pihak tertentu yang boleh membuat nombor tiruan. Ya, memang boleh, tapi perlu ingat dengan kerjasama orang ramai polis sudah pasti boleh mendapat maklumat tentang kegiatan ini. 
Dengan cara mengawal pengeluaran plat nombor sahaja yang akan menyulitkan pihak yang ingin melakukan jenayah membuat nombor plat palsu. Pihak berkuasa boleh menahan dan tangkap mereka yang menggunakan nombor plat selain dari bentuk nombor plat yang dikhususkan untuk motosikal, kereta lori dan bas. Pada masa ini bermacam gaya nombor plat yang digunakan termasuk potongan zink dan kotak. Sekiranya kerajaan serius untuk mencegah jenayah yang nampaknya membimbangkan terutama jenayah besar maka kita seharusnya timbulkan masalah kepada penjenayah untuk menjalankan niat jahat mereka dan  bukan susahkan polis.

Selagi perkara ini tidak diutamakan selagi itulah kita akan hadapi jenayah saperti rompakan, ragut dan lain-lain yang dilakukan memakai nombor plat palsu yang boleh dibuat dimana-mana tanpa kawalan yang berkesan.

Siapa yang akan membela Nabi saw?

Maulidur Rasul bakal kembali lagi dalam  beberapa hari lagi dan saperti biasa hari mulia ini disambut dengan berbagai acara bagi memperingati hari kelahiran junjungan besar kita Muhammad saw. Perarakan-perakan juga akan diadakan disegenap pelusuk negara. Tapi sedih sekali setelah hampir setahun lebih berlalu selepas satu kejadian menghina Nabi besar kita dilaporkan, langsung tidak ada apa tindakan pun diambil keatas laporan kes ini. Kenapa mesti berarak beramai-ramai sedangan Nabi saw kita dihina oleh seorang murtad laknatullah dan tidak ada siapa pun yang peduli atau bertindak membela kemuliaan Nabi Muhammad saw.

Siapa yang dapat membela Nabi saw?

Penghinaan terhadap Nabi saw pula telah dilakukan  oleh seorang padri Melayu murtad.Apakah mempersenda guraukan Nabi saw, Al Quran dan Islam merupakan satu kesalahan kecil  dan boleh dibiarkan begitu saja?  Sekurangnya tindakan diambil bawah Sek 298A Kanun Kesiksaan yang sedia ada.


Sedih bila mengenangkan Nabi kita,seorang individu teragung di dunia, diperlekeh oleh seorang murtad sedih lagi kerajaan yang yang kononnya kerajaan yang hendak menegakan syiar Islam bagaikan tidak peduli langsung.

Badrul Hisham seorang Melayu murtad laknatullah telah menghina Nabi sejak 2003 lagi dengan tersiar video di You Tube tentang ucapan laknatullah ini yang dibuat disebuah gereja di Sarawak. Ceramah laknatullah ini telah menghina Nabi, Al Quran dan Islam.Insiden ini hanya dapat dikesan oleh blogger terkenal Mahaguru58,dan satu laporan polis telah dibuat di Balai Dang Wangi dengan diikuti banyak gempar-gempur yang berlaku berkaitan kes ini. 


Tapi alangkah sedih sekali perkara ini hanya sekadar wayang saja dan api yang nampak membara telah mati begitu saja tanpa apa ada yang peduli atau mengangkat satu  jari  bagi membela kemuliaan Nabi kita.

Sekali lagi nampaknya saperti biasa YB Menteri Dalam Negeri telah gagal melaksanakan tugas untuk mengambil tindakan tegas berhubung kes serius ini.Kelemahan ini boleh digunakan oleh setengah pihak untuk terus menghina Islam. Undang-undang ada tapi perlaksanaan nampaknya begitu rapuh sekali. 


Bukan menjadi niat kita untuk menonjolkan imej sebagai seorang alim tapi dalam soal ini patutkah kita berpeluk tubuh  dan berdiam diri dan dibiarkan Nabi dihina begitu saja? Tambah sedih lagi bila mengenangkan kita ada pula parti politik yang pemimpinnya berserban besar, berjanggut dan kononnya berhasrat menegakkan Islam di negara ini tapi semua membisu seribu bahasa.Apakah mereka ini ikhlas atau sekadar berdrama saja? Memang tepat kata mantan PM Dr M, " Melayu cepat lupa".

Hairan selepas setahun lebih berlalu tidak pula ada ahli parlimen Islam tak kira parti yang bangkitkan soalan     tentang perkara ini di Parlimen. Dimana letaknya keutamaan kita? Seorang manusia istimewa dan tokoh utama di dunia saperti Muhammad saw menerima hinaan dari seorang murtad yang berpengetahuan Islam yang lebih nipis dari kulit popiah dan  pengetahuan Bible murtad ini juga saya percaya lebih nipis dari bahan ternipis dalam dunia boleh menghina Nabi saw . Mungkinkah kita bakal terima balasan dari Allah swt atas kegagalan besar ini. Allahualam.

Kitab suci kita dihina.

Apakah begitu sukar untuk mengesan murtad laknatullah ini? Ini juga memberi gambaran tentang betapi lemah dan tidak berkesannya jentera perisikan negara kita. Osama dan Sadam pun jatuh akibat tindakan perisikan yang begitu berkesan tapi di sini seorang murtad laknatullah macam ni pula payah nak dicari.

Mungkin laknatullah ini telah pun lari keluar negara tanpa disedari oleh Kementerian Dalam Negeri. Sekiranya ini berlaku dan  dia kiranya menggunakan dokumen perjalanan asing, maka keraayatan murtad ini sepatutnya dilucutkan bawah Art 24(2) Perlembagaan Malaysia. Tidak hairan jika nama murtad laknatullah ini juga tidak disenarai  hitamkan oleh Imigeresen.


Menteri Dalam Negeri patut sedar dan memperkuatkan cengkaman berhubung keselamatan, keamanan dan keharmonian negara agar terjamin dengan sokongan satu rangkaian risikan yang berkesan. Siapakah yang menyiasat kes penghinaan ini,Kementerian Multimedia atau Polis DiRaja Malaysia? Takut pula jadi macam kisah Jabatan A sangkakan kes disiasat oleh Jabatan B dan Jabatan B pula sangkakan kes disiasatan oleh Jabatan A. Akhirnya tidak ada sesiapa pun yang buat apa-apa. Harap-harap  ini bukanlah  scenario dalam hal ini? 

Oh ya! bercakap pasal kelemahan risikan,teringat pula kes lampau melibatkan Ayah Pin pemimpin Kerajaan Langitnya. Dilaporkan dulu Ayah Pin ini sering masuk dan keluar tanpa dikesan! Hebat demo, baguih betoi dia ni menyusup tanpa disedari.

Guilty or Not Guilty

The nation will again be kept on her toes when  the decision of this infamous sodomy trial involving former Deputy Prime Minister,Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim (DSAI) is announced. A sequel to a similar story occurred more than a decade ago that tore the nation apart. The sensational case of 1998 has in fact divided the general public into three factions. One faction of society swayed strongly to DSAI side, convinced that he was merely a victim of a grand conspiracy by the government while the other faction strongly believed that DSAI was indeed involved as charged. While a small  faction, the fence sitters who chose to remain neutral. These three factions exist everywhere, in the public sector, the private sector and even in institutions of higher learning.

How did all these come about? The cause, to me, was rather obvious.The judgement passed then created a turbulence that led to this segregation of opinions. Whatever the situation my humble opinion points to the failure in the line of actions taken by the police on that matter.  Probably a KGB like operation would have saved the nation unnecessary embarrassments and avoided the present  political scenario. The unprofessional handling of the whole matter in 1998 was the main cause that threw us into this cauldron of uncertainty.The constant political upheavals too drained our financial resources. In short a Chua Soi Lek type of operation would be more effective to have the devil exposed and  this situation we now face totally avoided.

By the way, I wonder in the Chua Soi Lek's escapade, who was the smart Alex who executed his operation so smoothly that his identity remained intact to this very day? Phew! Probably he was trained by the KGB? Well mister mysterious, whoever you are you surely is my kind of man and you would have been my first choice candidate for the post of our intelligence chief.So much for that, whatever has been done cannot be undone.Just like the Malay proverb  'nasi dah jadi bubur' that's exactly the situation we are in.It's best we  look forward for the sake of unity and security of this country. A thing easier said than done all  due to the failure to react appropriately when the 1998 case was known.

Come 9 Jan 2012 ,what do we expect next? We know the outcome of the case of 1998 which later swung in favour of DSAI who was then released from his 'Sungai Buluh residence'. The aftermath of this thriller saw the birth of 'Reformasi','Parti Keadilan','Hindraf' and other movements including   "Bersih". 9 Jan 2012 is just around the corner and the pro DSAI supporters are already charting the course of actions to be launched and drumming up support to get DSAI released. The other faction too does not just sit down with folded arms and watch things go by.They too probably have plans of their own. Notwithstanding which way the verdict goes found guilty or not guilty, a turbulence will definitely further reshape our political landscape.A not guilty verdict too will interpret that DSAI again was an innocent victim of a grand conspiracy.A jubilant mood among the supporters with shouts of 'takbir Allahu Akbar' will surely and constantly echo aloud wherever this man, once the Deputy Prime Minister chose to visit.

D-day Jan 9

9 Jan 2012 is the time we wait for the second tidal wave concerned with the recent case of similar nature and charges preferred against DSAI by his ex aide. Though lots of controversies surrounded the investigation into this case, the honourable judge, will have to come to a decision after careful scrutiny and review all the evidences and facts presented  before him, A tough decision but someone has to do the job don't they?

 Of course we will again face yet another complex situation.As law abiding citizens of  this beloved country we need to react in a manner that will not bring unnecessary disruptions to our daily lives.Planned demonstration will further strain our financial resources and create difficulties to the general public,As peace loving people we have to accept whatever the outcome may be.Those dissatisfied with the decision or the present government can use their executive rights when the next general elections comes and hope that we Malaysians can put our differences behind and come together once again like we once used to be. Phew! This is easier said than done.

For the members of the Royal Malaysia Police  in the Klang valley, it means bad news as usual leave will be frozen and all are to be on' standby' a word hated by most serving in the Klang valley. But nothing to complain as members of the Royal Malaysia Police must realise that their responsibility to the nation is not a walk in the park which I learnt during my training days. Since 1998 street demonstrations and assemblies became a common affair.

Oh yes, don't forget to tune into the next episode of "Did He Do It?" concerning the controversial sex video clip that should be next after this episode, or is it just going to be filed away?

Lastly as a humble Muslim and just back from the holy land I always pray to Allah swt for the truth to prevail and when this happen  it can be painful but like it or not, the truth is the truth and has to prevail. Instability and chaos will only bring miseries and therefore I again pray for  Allah swt to protect this beloved country, avoid any catastrophe and  let us enjoy progress,everlasting peace and above all racial harmony.
